About CaseSettlementCalc
Who Built This Site
My name is Marcus Webb. I spent eight years working as a paralegal at a personal injury law firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where I helped process hundreds of settlement cases — car accidents, slip-and-fall claims, workers' compensation disputes, and wrongful death cases. I left the firm in 2022 and started building tools I wished had existed when I was fielding calls from injured clients who had no idea what their case might be worth.
The number one question every new client asks is: "What is my case worth?" And the honest answer is that it depends on dozens of factors — most of which the client has never thought about. I spent years explaining the multiplier method, special vs. general damages, and comparative negligence over and over again. CaseSettlementCalc is my attempt to put that explanation into a tool anyone can use before they ever walk into an attorney's office.
What This Site Is
CaseSettlementCalc provides free estimate calculators for common legal settlement scenarios:
- Personal injury settlements — based on the standard multiplier method used by insurance adjusters and plaintiff attorneys
- Car accident settlement estimates — factoring in medical bills, lost wages, property damage, and pain and suffering
- Workers' compensation — estimates based on impairment ratings and state average weekly wages
- Child support calculations — based on income shares models used by most US states
- Alimony estimates — rough projections based on income differential and marriage length
- Slip and fall estimates — factoring in liability clarity and injury severity
Every calculator produces estimates, not legal advice. Settlement values in real cases depend on jurisdiction, specific facts, insurance policy limits, attorney skill, and a dozen other variables no calculator can fully account for. These tools are a starting point — a way to enter a conversation with an attorney already understanding the framework.
Editorial Standards and Accuracy
Every article and calculator on this site reflects my direct experience working with real settlement cases. I've personally reviewed the math behind each tool and cross-referenced the formulas against published guidance from the American Bar Association, state workers' compensation boards, and federal child support guidelines.
I update the site when laws change — particularly workers' comp state schedules, which update annually, and child support guideline changes which vary by state. If you spot an error or an outdated figure, use the contact form and I'll correct it promptly.
The educational articles on this site are written at the same standard I used when preparing client intake materials at the firm: accurate, plain-English, and honest about what the numbers can and cannot tell you.
Legal Disclaimer
CaseSettlementCalc provides general educational information only. Nothing on this site constitutes legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is formed by using these tools. Settlement values in actual cases vary enormously based on jurisdiction, evidence, representation, insurance coverage, and many other factors.
If you have been injured or are involved in a legal dispute, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. Many personal injury attorneys offer free consultations. The calculators on this site are a supplement to professional legal advice — not a replacement for it.
Contact and Corrections
Questions, corrections, or feedback: use the contact form. I read every message and respond to substantive questions about the calculators and methodology. I am not able to provide legal advice on specific cases.
